Unique Wedding Rituals

Image
Many couple chose to participate in rituals at their wedding to celebrate their union.  Some of these are rooted in tradition, culture and history, but in recent times, couples have been coming up with their own unique ways of symbolising their marriages.  We've heard of couples pouring sand, being wrapped in blankets, jumping the broom, sealing capsules and having wine ceremonies to represent the joining of their union.  We found two amazing couples who stayed true to who they are and introduced some rather unconventional ways of honouring their union.   Wek Hernandez and Lisa Yang, have shared a history of maintaining a fit and healthy lifestyle and own a physical therapy studio together.  The ladies, both clad in white gowns chose to honour their union by lifting a 253 pound barbell.     "... none of the usual ceremony rituals spoke to us," Hernandez said.  "So we really had to think, 'What's the common denominato...

Inspirational Succulent Wedding

Image
Apart from weddings; plants and flowers are another of our great loves. So of cause, we have been looking forward to setting up a succulent wedding especially as succulents have been getting more popular here in St. Lucia. Finding succulents on a really large scale can be difficult, but the fun and great thing about this is that you can still utilise other flowers and maintain your colour scheme.  Here are some great options we came across and felt inspired by to possibly recreate.  Regardless of your taste, succulents can be incorporated into your ceremony on a small scale or elaborate set up.  Setting up a wedding canopy and incorporating succulents, isle markers and hanging s cube terrariums are all lovely options.   It does not have to start and stop there for your ceremony set up; adding a succulent filled urn at your entrance or hanging chair decorations can compliment any of these ideas. There are so many table centerpiece options ...
